Dubai Police have confiscated a recreational motorbike and taken legal action against a guardian after traffic patrols stopped a child riding on a public street, accompanied by another child.
Officers acted immediately to ensure the safety of both the children and other road users.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander in Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, said the guardian was summoned, the vehicle impounded, and a release fee of AED 50,000 imposed.
Legal action was also taken under Wadeema’s Law, which criminalises exposing children to danger or neglecting their safety.

Al Mazrouei warned that allowing children to ride vehicles on public roads is extremely dangerous, as they are not physically or mentally prepared to handle traffic or sudden situations.
He stressed that recreational bikes should only be used in designated, supervised areas.
Parents are urged to supervise their children, ensure compliance with the law, and refrain from letting them operate any vehicle before reaching the legal age or obtaining a licence.
“Ignorance of the law does not exempt anyone from accountability,” Al Mazrouei said.
The public can report dangerous behaviour by calling 901 or using the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police app.
