Du services interrupted due to 'technical issue'

UAE telecom operator Du confirmed a technical error led to the disruption of its services on Saturday as users were left without internet or landline services.

Customers reported having no access to the provider's home internet, app or customer service, prompting Du to post an update to its services.

Posting on social media the company wrote: "Dear customers, we're currently facing a technical issue in some of our broadband/internet services in some areas. Our team is working on restoring the service back to normal as soon as possible. We're sorry for the inconvenience. We'll keep you posted."

Users took to social media to notify Du of the disruption early on Saturday afternoon.

The company's website and customer support contact numbers were also out of action during the glitch. 

Users reported the service had returned around 1 p.m.
