The National Media Authority (NMA) has teamed up with TikTok to run a training session for young media professionals from across the Arab world.
The session is part of the eighth edition of the Young Arab Media Leaders Programme, organised by the Arab Youth Centre (AYC), which runs until October 14.
It covers storytelling through short-form video, live streaming on TikTok (including audience engagement and building online communities), and the platform’s business tools for brand growth. It also covers best practices for producing responsible content.
NMA Vice Chairman Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi said investing in young talent was essential to developing responsible and influential Arab media. He added that combining technical skills with professional responsibility would strengthen young people’s ability to verify information and maintain public trust.
AYC Executive Director Fatima Al-Halami said the session combined journalism fundamentals with an understanding of industry developments, to help participants reach wider audiences.
General Manager of Content Operations at TikTok for EMEA, Kinda Ibrahim, said the partnership aimed to equip participants with the skills to tell their stories, express their cultures and engage with audiences.
