30 Palestinians released on day 6 of Gaza truce

Thirty Palestinians have been released from Israeli prisons in the sixth release of its kind under the truce agreement with Hamas.

The Israeli Prison Service said, in a statement, they were released from prisons in Israel, the occupied West Bank, and Jerusalem.

On Wednesday, the Israeli army announced that Hamas handed over 10 Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip, in addition to four Thai citizens, to the International Red Cross.

It's the sixth group of hostages to be released as part of the deal negotiated between Hamas and Israel last week.

It is not clear whether the ceasefire will be extended again, allowing for more exchanges.

Qatar, Egypt and the United States have continued to mediate negotiations with both sides, as Israel has said they will extend the pause in hostilities as long as Hamas keeps releasing hostages.
