Kuwait Airways reschedules flights after airport suspension due to Iranian attack

Kuwait Airways said on Saturday it has rescheduled most flights after the country temporarily suspended operations at Kuwait International Airport following Iranian missile and drone attacks.

In a post on social media platform X, Kuwait Airways said the decision was made "due to the temporary suspension of takeoff and landing operations at Kuwait International Airport".

The airline said passengers would be updated on any changes to the flight status on their "registered phone numbers".

A power generation and water desalination plant in Kuwait was hit in an Iranian attack, Kuwait's Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Ministry said in a statement. It was the second attack on Kuwaiti water desalination sites in two days.

The country's national media office had earlier reported that sirens were activated "for the fifth time" on Saturday morning as the country was being targeted by Iranian missile and drone strikes.

The US military's Central Command earlier said it concluded its seventh consecutive day of strikes by hitting Iranian surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage and maritime capabilities.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was concerned about escalation in the conflict, particularly "attacks on civilian infrastructure in Iran and across the region," his spokesperson said on Friday.
