At least 44 people have been killed and dozens more injured in India's Himachal Pradesh after a bus plunged into a gorge.
Officials said at least 60 people were on board when the packed bus veered off the road and fell into a 500-foot gorge near Banjar in the mountainous Kullu district.
Images from the scene showed the mangled bus lying beside a stream.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash has been launched, with preliminary reports suggesting that the driver lost control at a sharp curve.
