Images of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un overseeing a long-range artillery drill have been published by the state media.
It comes a day after South Korea reported that the North fired two projectiles off the east coast into the sea.
According to state media KCNA, Kim inspected the long-range artillery sub-units' testing of the multiple rocket launcher system, and expressed "great satisfaction". He also called for a strong "military readiness posture."
The media report, however, did not mention whether missiles were involved.
It's the first such launches since Pyongyang warned of a "new strategic weapon" at the beginning of the year.
