Russian attacks on Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia kill five, officials say

Russian attacks have killed five people and injured 20 in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia early on Tuesday while also striking Kyiv, triggering fires in the capital, officials said.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said Russian troops deployed missiles and aerial bombs on the city. He posted pictures showing buildings and vehicles ablaze.

Air raid alerts were sounded in both Zaporizhzhia and in Kyiv, where the city's military administration said warehouses in a central district were ablaze. One person was reported injured.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said medical personnel had been dispatched to a central district. Kyiv's air raid alert was lifted after 40 minutes, then issued again well after midnight.
