US official says Huawei 'too close' to Chinese government

The USA has continued its attack against Huawei.

Speaking at a security summit, the country's acting defense secretary said the technology firm was "too close" to the Chinese government.

Patrick Shanahan also said Washington was worried about the threat of cyber attacks as well as the theft of intellectual property.

The US has accused Huawei of espionage and a series of other misdeeds.

Huawei has maintained its innocence and has disputed all allegations.
