Venezuela holds military exercises as Maduro attempts to show force

Venezuelan military exercises are being held across several parts of the country amidst escalating tensions with the US.

The country's armed forces and the newly incorporated civilian militias were seen putting up 10-minute drills on the streets of the capital and other cities over the weekend.

It comes as Maduro faces immense pressure from the US and dozens of other nations to step down.

Although the Venezuelan leader has accused the US of preparing an invasion, there have been no indications, apart from economic sanctions, from Washington so far.
