In a video shared on social media, Abu Dhabi Police have warned drivers of the dangers of stopping in the middle of the road.

Motorists have been advised to move their vehicles off the road to emergency areas, activate the hazard lights, and place a reflective emergency triangle behind the vehicles to alert other drivers.

They can then call the emergency number 999 and wait for assistance.

These steps will ensure the safety of the drivers and other road users, the Abu Dhabi Police added in their advisory.

Drivers have also been reminded to adhere to speed limits, keep a safe distance from other vehicles, and observe traffic signals, highlighting that distractions can lead to serious accidents and legal consequences.
