Anyone who is caught throwing face masks or gloves out of their car windows will be fined AED 1,000 and six black points.
That’s the warning from Ajman Police who are urging residents not to discard these items randomly on the streets.
The penalties are in line with the UAE’s federal traffic law which prohibits people from throwing waste from vehicles.
Authorities have previously pointed out that masks and gloves should be disposed off properly as they can lead to the spread of diseases.
