The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment has pledged AED20 million to the UAE's 'Edge of Life' campaign that aims to rescue 5 million children from hunger.
It follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai and Supreme Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment.
The campaign was launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the aim of raising a minimum of AED1 billion to help children at risk of hunger in the world's most vulnerable community.
Sheikh Ahmed noted that the campaign marks a turning point in international efforts to combat hunger among children.
Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Establishment, said the campaign underscores the UAE’s position as a leading global platform for humanitarian action and marks a new era of international efforts to protect tens of millions of children from hunger and acute malnutrition.
The Edge of Life campaign to rescue five million children from hunger is organised in partnership with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) and Action Against Hunger.
