The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has updated the rules for entering the emirate from Monday, July 19.
Only those who present a negative PCR test with a 48-hour validity, or a negative DPI result with a 24-hour validity, will be allowed entry into the UAE capital.
Those entering using a PCR test and staying in the emirate for four days or more, must take another PCR test on day four, and a third one on day eight of entry.
Those using a DPI test and staying in the emirate for more than 48 hours, must take a PCR test on day three of entry, and take another PCR test on day seven of entry if staying for seven days or more.
A DPI test cannot be used to enter Abu Dhabi consecutively.
The procedure will apply to all vaccinated and non-vaccinated citizens and residents.
Those failing to take the required tests are liable for fines.
The steps are part of efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 variants and to ensure continuous testing.
A DPI test cannot be used to enter Abu Dhabi consecutive times. The procedures apply to all vaccinated and non-vaccinated citizens and residents.
