A series of major policy reforms have been approved in Dubai, aimed at improving quality of life in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Chairing a meeting of the Executive Council on Thursday, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, endorsed new policies covering healthcare, education, family services and smart infrastructure.
Among the new measures is a healthcare plan that will see three new hospitals and 33 primary care centres built by 2033, particularly in newly developed areas, including Al Yalayis, Al Awir, Hind City, Nad Al Sheba, Al Lisaili and Lehbab.
The new healthcare facilities will be established through public-private partnerships and backed by incentive packages to attract local and international investment.
The plan also includes better mental health coverage, scholarships for Emirati doctors, and partnerships to attract global healthcare investment.
In education, a new policy will ensure all Emirati students in private schools are enrolled in institutions rated ‘Good’ or higher, while expanding programmes to improve curriculum quality and increase the number of Emirati teachers.
Also announced was the Unified Centre for Family Care - a one-stop hub offering family counselling, child protection and social services through branches in Deira and Bur Dubai, and backed by digital tools.
Meanwhile, the new Dubai Smart Buildings Policy will promote eco-friendly, tech-enabled buildings aimed at cutting power use, water consumption and operational costs, while boosting resident wellbeing.
Sheikh Hamdan said these people-focused initiatives reflect Dubai’s commitment to building a more inclusive, sustainable and forward-looking city.
