Dubai Police, in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Interior, have arrested an Irish fugitive accused of involvement in an organised criminal group linked to international crimes in his home country.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to combat organised crime and pursue individuals wanted internationally.
Authorities say the operation began after Dubai received a judicial file from Irish officials outlining the charges and the suspect’s alleged role within the group.
Dubai Public Prosecution then issued an arrest warrant, setting legal procedures in motion ahead of extradition.
Dubai Police confirmed the suspect was detained within 48 hours of the warrant being issued on April 15, following intensive surveillance, investigation and coordinated tracking efforts.
The force says the operation reflects the advanced capabilities and efficiency of security agencies in Dubai and across the UAE.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting international efforts against cross-border crime, and stressed the importance of close cooperation and information sharing with law enforcement agencies worldwide.
