Dubai Police have issued a warning about the dangers of not maintaining a safe distance between vehicles after a truck collision on a key road between Dubai and Sharjah left one injured.
Brigadier Jumaa bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said initial investigations revealed that the truck drivers didn't maintain a safe distance.
According to Dubai Police stats, collisions caused by tailgating are among the leading causes of traffic accidents.
A specialised team from Dubai Police was immediately dispatched to the accident site near Global Village to carry out an inspection and collect technical evidence to determine what caused the accident.
UAE traffic law hands violators AED 400 in fines and 4 black points.
The official added that the injured is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
