Dubai Police have reviewed final security and organisational preparations for the 2026 New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, chaired a high-level coordination meeting attended by senior officers, police station heads and specialised field teams.
The focus was on ensuring safety, efficiency and comfort for the millions of residents and international visitors expected to welcome the New Year in the city.
With Dubai’s New Year’s Eve festivities now a globally anticipated event, planning centred on major celebration sites including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, Dubai Festival City, Global Village and Burj Al Arab.
Dubai Police confirmed that comprehensive operational plans are in place, prioritising smooth traffic flow, effective crowd management and emergency readiness.
Security teams will be deployed across key locations, with advanced traffic and transport strategies designed to minimise congestion and keep the city moving.
Al Shamsi said New Year’s Eve in Dubai has become a global landmark event, requiring exceptional coordination and the use of advanced technology.
He added that police are working closely with government and private-sector partners to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a world leader in major event safety and organisation.
