Dubai Police have warned the public to remain extra vigilant when dealing with employment contracts and work visas.
The Anti-Fraud Centre said scamsters lure victims with fake job offers for a fee.
The officials reminded residents to secure work visas only through official government channels and legally licensed recruitment agencies.
The alert comes as part of the Dubai Police's ongoing #BewarOfFraud campaign.
How to Protect Yourself
- Verify First: Always double-check the authenticity of any visa offer through the relevant official authorities before making any payments.
- Use Authorised Channels: Only deal with accredited offices and government platforms to process your paperwork.
- Stay Cautious: Be wary of individuals or unofficial groups promising "guaranteed" visas outside of standard legal procedures.
How to Report a Scam
If you have been targeted by a scammer or have spotted a suspicious offer, don't stay silent. Reporting these incidents helps protect the entire community. You can report fraud or cybercrimes through:
- Dubai Police Smart App: A quick and easy way to report directly from your phone.
- eCrime Platform: Specifically designed for reporting online crimes and digital fraud.
- Call 901: For non-emergency enquiries and to speak with a specialist.
