Authorities in Dubai have closed two sports establishments for breaking COVID-19 safety protocols.
Inspection teams from Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Economy, alongside Dubai Municipality, found the outlets to have “repeated the offences”.
Six other establishments were also fined for failure to maintain social distancing and face mask guidelines and other safety rules.
Eight other establishments were issued warnings.
Authorities have urged all clubs, academies, and sports and training centres in the Emirate to ensure COVID-19 safety protocols are in place at all times.
As per the guidelines outlined by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, all facilities must carry out regular disinfection of the premises and ensure that physical distancing rules are followed.
They must also display awareness signage inside the establishments and maintain adequate records of their members, including names, telephone numbers and visit dates.
