His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, has approved a series of ambitious plans to enhance Dubai's leadership across multiple sectors over the next decade.
Among the initiatives approved by The Executive Council of Dubai are the Education Strategy 2033 and the Real Estate Strategy 2033, which aims to boost the value of Dubai’s real estate transactions to AED 1 trillion by 2033.
Additionally, plans targeting the modernisation of transport infrastructure, the transformation into a cashless city, and the preservation of the emirate’s heritage were also greenlit.
The Education Strategy 2033 seeks to provide world-class education from early childhood through higher education, emphasising a student-centric approach and fostering lifelong learning with strong community involvement.
The goal is to prepare UAE students to be among the most competitive globally, with access to top local and international universities.
The Real Estate Strategy aims for a 70% increase in transactions and a 20-fold growth in the value of Dubai’s real estate portfolios, contributing AED 73 billion to the emirate’s GDP.
Meanwhile, the Dubai Cashless Strategy aims to position the city among the top five cashless cities in the world by 2033, ensuring that all businesses accept digital payments and boosting the economy by AED 8 billion.
The newly approved Suspended Transport Systems Project is part of Dubai’s Smart Mobility Strategy. By 2030, Dubai aims to automate 25% of all trips through the implementation of a 65 km system connecting Umm Suqeim Street, Al Khor and Zabeel.
It will help increase the share of public transport journeys in Dubai to 26% by 2030, and will be integrated with other modes of transportation to help people move around the emirate efficiently and sustainably.
The Dubai National Archives Project, overseen by the Mohammed bin Rashid Library, aims to preserve the history and heritage of Dubai according to the highest global standards, documenting and archiving the emirate’s government records and achievements, ensuring that Dubai’s story is passed down to future generations.
