His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince, has congratulated the team from Dubai Schools – Al Khawaneej for winning the gold medal at the International Greenwich Olympiad.
In a post on the social media, Sheikh Hamdan, who also holds the position of UAE's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, is seen with Ali Al Jarwan, Khalifa Al Marzouqi, Omar Al Balushi and Saeed Abu Al Shawareb.
He described the group of four as "a source of pride" for the country, adding that their 'Smart Irrigation Train' project outperformed entries from over 80 countries.
Sheikh Hamdan noted that they represent an "inspiring example for students across Dubai", highlighting that creative minds are considered the country's "greatest national asset and the driving force behind progress and prosperity".
"To all our students, I say: pursue knowledge with determination, let your ambitions know no limits, and make excellence a lifelong pursuit," he added in his post.
The competition, which was held in London from June 14 to 20, brings together young minds from around the world to showcase their scientific and technological innovations and creative solutions.
