The Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, received the famous Indian yogi Sadhguru at his majlis, in Abu Dhabi, as part of the UAE's efforts to consolidate the values of tolerance and coexistence.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance dialogue between cultures and religions, and to consolidate the principles of peaceful coexistence as a basis for stability and sustainable development.
Sheikh Nahyan praised Sadhguru’s pioneering role in promoting spiritual awareness and consolidating human values, noting that his initiatives are a global model for spreading the culture of peace and tolerance, and promoting civilized dialogue between peoples, which contributes to human rapprochement and consolidating peaceful coexistence.
His Excellency reviewed the future initiatives that Sadhguru intends to launch, which include enhancing environmental awareness, expanding international efforts to protect the environment, in addition to projects that support peaceful coexistence and sustainable development, and enhance international cooperation to achieve global prosperity.
Sadhguru is one of the world's leading spiritual figures, whose lectures and writings address issues of spirituality, self-awareness and environmental sustainability. He has launched pioneering environmental initiatives, such as Rally for Rivers, to protect rivers in India, and Save Soil, to combat soil degradation, to raise environmental awareness and encourage governments to take concrete steps to protect the earth.
Sheikh Nahyan said that achieving peace begins with achieving spiritual and intellectual balance for individuals, as tolerance is a fundamental pillar for enhancing security and stability in societies. He also pointed to the close relationship between sustainability and development, explaining that achieving social and economic justice contributes to reducing conflicts and enhancing global stability.
His Excellency stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan "may God protect him", continues its global leadership in spreading and consolidating the values of tolerance and coexistence, as these values have gone beyond theoretical frameworks to become an integrated approach that is translated into pioneering national policies and international initiatives that enhance dialogue between cultures and consolidate the foundations of global cooperation and understanding.
Sadhguru also praised the UAE's approach to promoting a culture of tolerance and openness, pointing to its success in building a global model of peaceful coexistence, where individuals of different nationalities and religions live in harmony and mutual respect. He also commended the UAE's efforts in supporting environmental sustainability, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and cooperation in this field.
