Dubai's Crown Prince has thanked an Indian family who donated the organs of their deceased two-year-old son.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, hailed the family's humanitarian gesture that helped save the lives of three children in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
"The family of Vijith Vijayan who despite the pain of loss of their 2-year-old son decided to donate their child’s organs to save the life of others," Sheikh Hamdan said on Twitter.
"I am truly thankful to all the teams involved for their efforts. May your soul rest in peace Vivaan and my sincere wishes for a healthy life ahead for the 3 children," he added.
The medical procedures for the removal and transplantation of the donated organs were conducted at Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital in Dubai.
