UAE extradites two criminals on Interpol red list to Belgium

The UAE has extradited two criminals wanted on the Interpol red list to Belgium following their arrest during a joint operation by police forces of Dubai and Sharjah.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said the individuals are among Belgium's most wanted and face charges of cross-border drug trafficking, money laundering and running a drug network.

The names of the suspects were not released.

The Ministry added that the extradition was carried out in accordance with a judicial ruling and a decision by the Ministry of Justice.

The authority said the move reaffirms the country’s commitment to international legal procedures and emphasizes the importance of international cooperation in combatting transnational crime.
