People have been advised not to take more than the "recommended doses" of COVID-19 vaccine as it "contradicts medical opinion".
During the latest media briefing, the UAE health sector's spokesperson Dr Farida Al Hosani stressed that it could expose people to undesired health complications.
She added that booster shots, of any vaccine, taken six months since the second dose, will improve immunity and increase antibodies.
It will also protect senior citizens and people with chronic diseases from any complications.
Dr Hosani added that vaccines are effective in reducing infection and mortality rates, hospitalisations and admission to intensive care units.
It, however, does not prevent infections completely, hence it's crucial that people follow safety protocols diligently.
Health Sector: We noticed that some insist on taking more than the recommended doses for #Covid19, which contradicts medical opinion and may expose them to undesired complications, so, we advise all to adhere to the medical opinion. #TogetherWeRecover
