His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has praised New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for her support to the Muslim community.
It comes after last week's mosque attacks in Christchurch that left 50 people dead.
On Twitter, Sheikh Mohammed also praised the New Zealand leader for her "sincere empathy and support" while dealing with the aftermath of the attacks.
The iconic Burj Khalifa lit up with an image of Jacinda Ardern hugging one of the victims.
New Zealand today fell silent in honour of the mosque attacks' martyrs. Thank you PM @jacindaardern and New Zealand for your sincere empathy and support that has won the respect of 1.5 billion Muslims after the terrorist attack that shook the Muslim community around the world. pic.twitter.com/9LDvH0ybhD
