UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, has inspected the food supply and procurement operations at Carrefour distribution centre as part of efforts to ensure retailers are well stocked to meet the demands of the community.
Al Marri also checked the processes involved in procurement and quality checks for fresh and essential goods, as well as inventory and storage management.
He affirmed that all retail outlets across the UAE markets are supported by stable supply chains that enhances strategic stock levels of various commodities, particularly food and medicine.
The minister also reviewed the distribution process during a meeting with the senior executives at Carrefour.
The inspections are part of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism's daily efforts to ensure market stability and enhance the efficiency of supply chains.
Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, said, "Our teams continue to work around the clock to ensure the availability of essential goods in sufficient quantities across all Carrefour stores nationwide, meeting the needs of our customers at stable and affordable prices."
