January 17 marks the third anniversary of the Houthi attack on Abu Dhabi's Musaffah ICAD 3 area, along with a construction area at Abu Dhabi International Airport, which caused three petroleum tankers to explode, killing three people and leaving six others injured.
A study, The Houthi Threat to Regional Security: Lessons Learned from the Events of January 17, released by the Trends Research and Advisory Centre, highlighted that the Houthi attacks on the UAE demonstrated the country's ability to handle terrorist threats with exceptional efficiency.
The research explored multiple aspects of the Houthi threat to regional security while analysing the group's role in Yemen's internal conflict and threat to maritime security in parts of the Arabian Peninsula.
The research uses the events of January 17 to learn invaluable lessons on how to deal with threats to national security.
