The speaker of the UAE's Federal National Council has reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
Speaking at a parliamentary meeting in Istanbul, Saqr Ghobash stressed that lasting stability in the region depends on a two-state solution, with an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
He expressed the UAE’s strong solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially those in Gaza, condemning the ongoing violence, displacement and suffering.
Ghobash led the UAE’s delegation to the first meeting of the Parliamentary Group in Solidarity with Palestine, held in Istanbul under the patronage of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and attended by 12 heads of parliament.
