The UAE's National Media Authority has taken legal action against an individual who posted social media content that included the bullying of a child with disabilities.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the authority said the content also included inappropriate suggestions that violate UAE societal values.
It added that it coordinated with the relevant social media platform to take action against the account and notified the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
The authority also emphasised its rejection of abuse and bullying in all its forms, and its commitment to protecting children and people with disabilities and safeguarding society.
