UAE Minister of State Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi has called on "the international community to make every effort possible to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza".
Speaking at a follow-up meeting to the Conference for the Civilian Population in Gaza, virtually, she said it will "prevent the region from being dragged into new unprecedented levels of violence and instability".
Al Kaabi also pushed for the urgent need to secure humanitarian corridors that will ensure the safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
Held by French President Emmanuel Macron, the meeting brought together representatives from over 50 countries, the European Union, the African Union, the GCC, the Arab League, the UN, as well as from the Palestine Red Crescent Society, and other NGOs to explore ways to end the crisis.
Al Kaabi also highlighted how the UAE is working tirelessly with international partners to bring an end to the hostilities in Gaza. Since the conflict erupted, the UAE has embarked on multiple humanitarian endeavours to help the people of Gaza. These include the "Gallant Knight 3" humanitarian campaign that saw the UAE dispatch 111 planes carrying more than 2,000 tonnes of food, medical and relief supplies, the establishment of a field hospital inside the Gaza Strip, and the nationwide "Tarahum - for Gaza" campaign.
The UAE will also provide medical treatment for 1,000 Palestinian children accompanied by their families in UAE hospitals.
