Al Ahli set for Guangzhou Evergrande test

NULL

Al Ahli Director of Football Roy Aitken says the club will respect AFC Champions League final opponents Guangzhou Evergrande but won't fear them. The Chinese Super League-title holders beat Japanese Treble winners Gamba Osaka 2-1 on aggregate to set up a two-legged tie with Al Ahli on November 7 and 21. The first leg will take place in Dubai, with the return in China. It’s a tough test for the UAE side, but Aitken told the ARN News Centre it’s one they’re relishing. "We know it will be hard, but we're enjoying the fact we've made the final and we'll now meet one of the big teams from that East Section," he said. "We know their players and we know their manager Luis Felipe Scolari, who is an excellent coach. "But we spent big again in the summer and our international players are really doing well. "We've got high hopes of doing well in both games, but are in no doubt how tough it's going to be."
