Amateur golfer Jose Luis Ballester has admitted to urinating in a creek at Augusta National golf club during his debut round at The Masters.
The Spaniard took relief in Rae's Creek, located on the 13th hole, during Thursday's opening round.
Speaking about the incident the 21-year-old said: "I completely forgot that we had those restrooms to the left of the tee box."
"I really need to pee. I didn't really know where to go, and since Justin Thomas had an issue on the green, I'm like, I'm just going to sneak here in the river.
"Probably people would not see me that much - and then they clapped for me."
Ballester won the US Amateur at Hazeltine in 2024, qualifying him for The Masters - widely considered as the most prestigious tournament in golf.
Following tradition, the youngster was paired with reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler and endured a tough start to the tournament with two bogeys and a double bogey in his opening five holes. He finished his round on 76 - four over par.
Meanwhile Justin Rose used a red-hot putter to grab a three-shot lead over a trio of players to go into day two top of the leaderboard.
