Arsenal dashed Liverpool's hopes of setting a new Premier League points record with a 2-1 win over the champions.

Jurgen Klopp's men needed to win their final three matches of the season to break Manchester City's record of 100 points set in 2018.

They were on course when Sadio Mane opened the scoring after 20 minutes at the Emirates Stadium but the Gunners hit back through Alexandre Lacazette (32’) and Reiss Nelson (44’).

The win saw Arsenal climb to ninth place as they chase qualification for the Europa League.

Elsewhere, Manchester City beat relegation-threatened Bournemouth 2-1, while Tottenham won 3-1 at Newcastle to move up to seventh in the table, and Burnley pulled off a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
