Several cricketers have suffered injury scares ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

England captain Eoin Morgan sustained a finger fracture after a fielding accident during training.

He will miss Saturday's warm-up match against Australia but is expected to be fit for the tournament opener on May 30.

Vijay Shankar also had an injury scare on the eve of India's first warm-up.

The all-rounder was hit on his right forearm while attempting a pull against fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed.

He was forced to leave the training session halfway.

Sri Lanka's Avishka Fernando was taken off the field on a stretcher after hurting his ankle during his side's warm-up match against South Africa.

However he is expected to be fit for his side's next warm-up match.
