A workshop has been held to discuss the return of spectators to sporting events.

Dubai Police and the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) agreed on safety protocols that must be carried out during matches and events in order for fans to safely transition back into stadiums.

This comes after sports events were suspended and stadiums were shut due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Officials spoke about thoroughly sanitizing venues, using thermal cameras to check spectators’ temperature, ensuring that all individuals are wearing masks and the possibility of reconfiguring seating arrangements inside sports arenas.

They will also be focusing on educating the public and raising awareness on the precautionary measures implemented by the emirate’s authorities.
