Economic impact of sport in Dubai exceeds AED6 billion

Dubai continues to play a prominent role in promoting sporting events, with annual spend on the sector touching USD 1.7 billion (AED 6.2 billion). That’s according to the consulting firm Deloitte’s latest research on the economic impact of sport in the emirate. It says international stakeholders are increasingly looking at Dubai as an attractive destination for hosting big-ticket events. Dan Jones, Head of Deloitte Sports Business Group spoke to ARN on the sidelines of the Host Cities Summit in Dubai, where the report was released.
