England have suffered a shock defeat in the Cricket World Cup.

They lost to Sri Lanka by 20 runs at Headingley on Friday.

Bowling first, the hosts restricted Sri Lanka to 232 for 9 with Jofra Archer and Mark Wood taking three wickets each.

In reply England were bowled out for 212 as fast man Lasith Malinga starred with figures of 4 for 43.

Sri Lanka now move to fifth in the points table while the hosts are third.
