Boat No. 96, representing HPI Fujairah Racing Team and driven by Italian brothers Rosario and Giuseppe Schiano di Cola, claimed victory in the Dubai GP - Race 1 of the fifth and final round of the 2024 UIM XCAT World Championship.

The event, organised by Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) on Jumeirah beaches, marked a thrilling conclusion to the global powerboat racing season.

With this win, the Fujairah Racing Team solidified its dominance in the overall standings, earning 35 points to reach a total of 250 points.

The Dubai GP, held from December 13 to 15, showcased 10 international powerboats competing in two main races and the Speed Race title.

This championship underscores DIMC’s commitment to establishing Dubai as a global hub for marine sports and a premier destination for world-class events.

The return of the UIM XCAT World Championship to Dubai after a two-year hiatus reinforces the city’s legacy in hosting powerboat championships, a tradition that dates back to 1992 when Dubai became the first regional and Middle Eastern venue for such prestigious competitions.

Looking ahead, a qualifying race for the fastest time will be held on Saturday to determine the starting positions for Sunday’s second main race, ensuring another day of high-octane excitement on Dubai’s waters.
