Viktor Hovland has got his preparations for this week's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship off to the ideal start by winning The Hero Challenge.

The 22-year-old from Norway outplayed a star-studded field which included the likes of world number one Brooks Koepka and Masters champion Danny Willett.

Players were tasked with hitting the ball nearest to the pin from around 100 yards away at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit.

It was the first time ever that the entertaining exhibition event was played in the UAE's capital.

The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA gets underway on Thursday.
