Liverpool thrash Norwich City in season opener

Liverpool have started the new Premier League season by thrashing newly-promoted Norwich City.

Playing in front of a buzzing home crowd at Anfield, the Champions League winners scored four first half goals in the 4-1 victory.

Norwich captain Grant Hanley scored a disastrous own goal open the scoring before Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Divock Origi all found the back of the net.

However there was an injury concern for the Reds after Brazilian keeper Allison slipped while taking a goal-kick.

He had to be replaced by new signing Adrian.
