Man City, Real Madrid and Inter advance in Cup games

Manchester City will return to Wembley in March to defend the League Cup against Aston Villa.

Pep Guardiola’s men progressed to the final 3-2 on aggregate despite losing the second leg of their semi-final clash with Manchester United 1-0.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan beat Fiorentina 2-1 to set up an Italian Cup semi-final meeting with Napoli, while Real Madrid thrashed Real Zaragoza 4-0 to reach the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.

There was also a win for Paris St Germain, who progressed to the French Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable 2-0 win at third-tier Pau.
