Liverpool's Sadio Mane has been named African Footballer of the Year.

The Senegal forward beat club team-mate Mohamed Salah and Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez to the prize.

Mane scored 30 goals in all competitions last season, helping Jurgen Klopp's side win the 2019 Champions League title.

He becomes only the second Senegalese to win the award after another former Liverpool man, El Hadji Diouf, won it twice in 2001 and 2002.
