Sarfaraz Ahmed sacked as Pakistan cricket captain

Pakistan have sacked Sarfaraz Ahmed as their captain across all formats of cricket.

Azhar Ali is the new Test skipper, while Babar Azam will lead the side in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I).

A new one-day captain will be named later.

Sarfaraz has also been dropped altogether from both the Test and T20I sides due to a poor run of form.

Pakistan are scheduled to tour Australia for a three-match T20I series and a two-Test series later this year.
