Serena Williams, Simona Halep reach Wimbledon semis

Serena Williams and Simona Halep have advanced to the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

The eleventh-seeded Williams overcame fellow American Alison Riske 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, while the Romanian seventh seed Halep beat China's Zhang Shuai 7-6, 6-1.

Williams will play either Johanna Konta or Barbora Strycova in the next round, but she will be back on court again today to play mixed doubles with Andy Murray. 

Meanwhile, Halep will next face the winner of the other quarterfinal match between Elina Svitolina and Karolina Muchova.
