Sofia Kenin has reached her first Grand Slam final at the Australian Open.

She beat top seed Ashleigh Barty 7-6 (8-6) 7-5 in one hour and 45 minutes at Melbourne Park.

"I'm speechless. I can't believe it. I've dreamed of this since I was five years old. I've worked so hard to get here," Kenin said.

It ended Barty's bid to become the first Australian woman to reach the final in 40 years.

Kenin will now face Simona Halep or Garbine Muguruza in Saturday's final.
