South Africa crash out of World Cup

South Africa have been knocked out of the Cricket World Cup.

They lost to Pakistan by 49 runs on Sunday night at Lord's after failing to chase down 309.

The loss, which was their fifth of the tournament, means it's now mathematically impossible for the Proteas to qualify for the semi-finals.

Pakistan, meanwhile, move up to seventh in the points table, giving them an outside chance of making it to the final four.

Their next match is against New Zealand on Wednesday.
