Tilal Al Khalediah is the champion of the Dubai Kahayla Classic, the first round of the 28th edition of the Dubai World Cup, which was held on Saturday at the Meydan International Racecourse.

Tilal Al Khalediah, owned by Khalediah Stables and led by jockey Adel Al-Faridi under the supervision of coach Nasser Mutlaq Al-Qahtani, took the lead in the Dubai Kahayla Classic race, which was designated for purebred Arabian horses in the "first category" and over a distance of 2000 metres on the sand track.

The race saw the participation of 13 of the strongest horses, who were competing for prizes worth US$1 million (AED 3.67 million) sponsored by One Zabeel.

Tilal Al Khalediah previously won nine times out of 10 entries. The 6-year-old horse finished the race in 2:13:87 minutes, with a huge difference of 6 and a half lengths, so the champion won his share of the total race prizes, which were 580 thousand dollars.

The Emirati horse “Baraka”, owned by Sultan Ali and led by jockey Connor Beasley under the supervision of trainer Ahmed bin Harmash, came in second place, winning $200,000 (AED 734,460).

Asfan Al Khalidiya, owned by Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz and led by jockey Abdullah Al Alawi, came in third place, winning 100,000 dollars (AED 367,230).
