UAE set to celebrate National Sports Day

UAE residents are set to celebrate the first-ever National Sports Day today — a country-wide day of sport promoting the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle. The occasion starts celebrations ahead of the 44th National Day, which falls on Wednesday, December 2 and is themed ‘UAE Unites Us’ with the aim of encouraging people to work towards a happier, healthy nation. Sports and fitness groups, schools and companies are hosting hundreds of events today that promise family-friendly fun with everything from bouncy castles, dancing classes and bowling to more arduous boot camps.
